SINCE 1870
DISCOVER THE LEGACY OF A LONG FORGOTTEN DISTILLERY
In 1870 Bedřich Kafka founded company, which specialized in the production of liqueurs and spirits. The distillery itself was located at 30 Pražská Street in Příbram, where you can still find the original emblem of the company. Spirits and liqueurs were produced by steam distillation, which surpassed most of the products of that time in the whole Europe. Thanks to its excellent quality, Bedřich became a Czech court supplier and exported his liqueurs and spirits to many countries around the world. The First World War did not stop Morella, and during the First Republic the company continued to flourish and expanded to other countries. The sad end was the Second World War and the following takeover of communist power. Today, it would be more than 150 years since Bedřich Kafka had raised the production of liqueurs and spirits to the world level. We decided to build on his craft and legacy. Welcome to Frederic Kafka Distillery.
Bedřich Kafka was also a great pioneer of marketing. For example, he used these postage stamps for his promotion in France. His products literally became a phenomenon here, so Bedřich began to use the translation of his name Frederic.
The kinship with the writer Franz Kafka is also interesting. Bedrich's father is Franz's great-grandfather.
